Precautionary move despite no reported incidents or injuries

COLUMBUS, IN (December 30, 2009) – Dorel Juvenile Group today announced a voluntary recall of the bassinet attachment purchased in conjunction with the Eddie Bauer® Complete Care Play Yard.  The affected models numbers, which appear on a sticker underneath the play yard, are: 05088 and 05350.

While there have been no reported injuries, Dorel is working in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to replace the bassinets due to the potential for a metal support bar of the bassinet to come out of the fabric sleeve and create an uneven sleeping surface, posing risk of suffocation.

The Eddie Bauer Complete Care Play Yards were sold at major retailers in the U.S. January 2007 through October 2009.  The play yard and accompanying changer and mobile can continue to be used as intended.

To obtain a free bassinet repair kit, consumers should contact Dorel Juvenile Group toll-free at 1-866-762-2166 between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday ET, or visit http://www.djgusa.com/usa/eng/Safety-Notices.
